Over the past forty years Lloret de Mar has transformed itself from a small town to one of the largest resorts on the Costa Brava.  Lloret has always been popular with uk holidaymakers and before the arrival of budget flights holidaymakers often travelled to the area by coach.  The advent of budget airlines and package holidays has boosted tourism to the area.  Holidaymakers tend to stay in the resort but travel a few kms in either direction and you can still find some quiet bays.  Lloret has quite a hectic nightlife with hundreds of bars and restaurants, during the peak season the beach is extremely busy.
