Just a short walk from the bustling resort of Magaluf is the quieter resort of Calas Vinas, set in a secluded cove with a nice sandy beach.  There are bars and restaurants a few hotels and some apartments to rent.  Calas Vinas would be a good location for people wishing to relax during the day and then enjoy the party atmosphere of Magaluf in the evening.  The resort is ideal for children, the sheltered sandy beach is safe for bathing. The crystal clear water of the cove make it a great place for scuba diving and snorkelling but closer to the beach, the sea is shallow.  The proximity of Cala Vinas to Palma and Magaluf make it a great alternative for anybody wanting a quieter place to stay but which is close to all the nightlife.  There are some nice bars and restaurants in the resort for those wanting a more laid back evening.
