It is important for costal areas to provide at least one "lively" resort.  The Costa del Sol has Torremolinos, on the Costa Blanca we find Benidorm, San Antonio is Ibiza's hotspot and  Magaluf and Palma Nova are the lively resorts of Majorca.  Just a few kilometers around the coast from Palma, Magaluf is not for the fainthearted or people looking for a relaxing holiday. Magaluf is primarily a young persons resort. There are plenty of bars offering happy hour, with discos and night clubs competing with one another for decibel levels.  Lots of youngsters don't get up until the afternoon, they then spend the rest of the daylight hours asleep on the beach waiting for the evenings activities to recommence.   There are plenty budget hotels and apartments catering for young people looking for no frills accommodation and also more upmarket 3 and 4 star hotels for those who enjoy the nightlife but want a bit of luxury.
