La Cala de Mijas is a nice laid back resort on the Costa del Sol. Unlike the larger resorts of Torremolinos and Fuengirola, this area is a lot quieter, ideal for a relaxed holiday. Despite it being more tranquil than some of its neighbours, there are still plenty bars and restaurants and some good nightlife. If you don't fancy lying on the beach all day, there are plenty of attractions on offer including horse riding, an aquapark and lots of excursions which you can book at most hotels or ticket shops. High above Mijas Costa , is the old town of Mijas . Here you'll find a beautiful maze of cobbled streets, flanked by whitewashed houses decked with geraniums. There are some fantastic restaurants, pottery shops and up market boutiques. Mijas Village is now visited by many tourists from the busy costal resorts but has managed to maintain much of its old charm.
