Based in the typical white Andalusian pueblo of Torrox, some 50 km east of Malaga, we offer painting holidays in Andalucia, Spain for small groups (maximum 10 people) of all standards and experience.

Holiday Overview

The aim of the holiday is to allow guests to participate in the process of painting and drawing allowing them to discover their own interpretation of the Andalucian landscape.  All aspects of painting and drawing are covered, this includes the use of colour, surface texture, the application of brush marks and everything else required to convey a sense of the mood and place in the finished painting.  There are also short slide shows and lessons covering the styles of various artists such as  Braque, Diebenkorn, Rae, Matisse and others.  The holiday is suitable for all levels from beginners to the more experienced. Use of colour, application of brush marks, surface texture and balance of composition will be explored to convey a sense of mood and place in resolved paintings. Brief, informative slide lectures will be given on artists such as Braque, Matisse, Diebenkorn, Rae and others, used as guiding lights for participants. This course is suitable for beginners as well as those with experience. Our objective is to improve your technique, regardless of your starting point. Our resident professional artist, Anna Martin, will provide you with expert advice and commentary on your work, and introduce you to new techniques to enhance your skills.
