Calpe's coastline includes the beaches of Arenal and La Fossa, with the Rock of Ifach forming a prominent landmark. A view of the rock can appear in listings across different locations. It helps with orientation but does not tell you which beach is most convenient or where you will buy groceries.
Choose the beach you expect to use, then compare addresses around its actual public access. If the old town is central to your plans, add that route separately. Avoid assuming a property can provide immediate access to every part of Calpe merely because the familiar rock appears in the photograph.
Plan town errands honestly
Map a suitable grocery shop and the route back with bags. A promenade full of places to eat does not necessarily provide every ingredient or household item you need. For regular cooking, a practical food-shopping route can outweigh a slightly better sea view.
Check whether the kitchen has enough worktop and storage for the length of stay. Ask about a freezer compartment only if you intend to use it; for a short trip, a smaller fridge and sensible purchases may be entirely adequate. Match facilities to meals rather than collecting amenities for their own sake.
Separate scenery from activity
Staying near Ifach does not mean you must climb it. If a visit to the natural park interests you, investigate current official access requirements and suitability separately. Do not let an apartment description turn a mountain outing into an assumed part of an otherwise relaxed beach holiday.
For the accommodation itself, verify the path from street to door, the floor and the lift. Ask about any development gate and whether the route shown on the map is available to guests throughout the hours you need.
Choose a workable rhythm
A beach-first stay may favour easy returns for showers and lunch, while a mixed town holiday may justify a different position. Agree how often the group expects to go out again after dinner. Pick the apartment that serves those repeated decisions comfortably and treat the rest of Calpe as places to explore when the day allows.
