Estepona's old town and La Rada beach provide two useful anchors for a self-catering stay. Its wider coastline also contains accommodation well beyond those anchors. A listing using Estepona in its title may be accurate without being a practical walking base for the town centre.
Pin the exact building and compare its routes to both the old town and the beach access. If the listing conceals its precise location until booking, request enough detail to assess the area and cancellation terms before committing. A broad map circle can hide the difference between an ordinary walk and a journey requiring transport.
Give the evening a shape
Decide whether most evenings will involve cooking, eating near the apartment or heading into the old town. An address that suits daytime beach use may generate a separate transfer every evening. That may be acceptable, but calculate it as part of the accommodation choice rather than discovering it on the first night.
