Picture two different routines

A studio can work well when guests keep similar hours and do not need much separation. Cooking, relaxing and sleeping usually happen within the same main room, so the layout matters more than a floor-area figure alone. Check whether there is enough space to leave luggage unpacked without obstructing everyday movement.

A one-bedroom apartment provides a separate room in principle, but inspect how that separation works. Look for a proper door and a clear floor plan. An alcove, mezzanine or glazed partition may provide a different degree of privacy from the bedroom you imagined when reading the headline.

Consider the busiest moments

Think about an early breakfast while someone else sleeps, a video call during an afternoon rest or an evening when one guest wants to read in bed. In a studio, each activity can affect everyone in the room. A separate bedroom may be worth more for these ordinary moments than for the total size of the property.

However, check how the living space is furnished. If it becomes another bedroom through a sofa bed, the household still needs an arrangement for early risers and late evenings. A one-bedroom apartment occupied by four people may offer less flexibility than the same apartment occupied by two.

Compare the usable layout

Look for the position of the kitchen relative to the bed, the route to the bathroom and the location of windows. Ask about extraction and cooling equipment if those are important to your routine. Photographs can show the arrangement, but they cannot prove how quiet or comfortable it will feel during your particular stay.

Make the price comparison with the full cost and the same dates, then decide what the separate room would enable you to do. For a short visit spent mostly outside, a well-arranged studio may meet every requirement. For a longer stay with different schedules, the ability to close a bedroom door can be a useful daily benefit. Choose for the activities the space needs to support, not the assumption that one category is automatically better.
