Find out which rooms are served
Ask what type of heating the apartment has and where it is installed. A reversible air-conditioning unit in the lounge, radiators throughout the property and a portable heater are different arrangements. Establish how the bedrooms and bathroom are heated if those spaces matter to your comfort.
Look at the floor plan alongside the answer. One appliance may be described as heating the apartment, but a closed bedroom at the end of a corridor presents a different situation from an open studio. Do not assume the equipment shown in one photograph represents every room.
Confirm control and availability
Check whether the heating is available for your actual dates, whether guests control it and whether any building schedule affects operation. Ask about stated usage limits and charges, including how an additional cost would be calculated. A written explanation is easier to compare with another listing than a general assurance that the apartment is warm.
If the system is unfamiliar, request operating instructions before arrival or confirm that someone can explain it at check-in. Find out who to contact if it does not work. Avoid planning to bring or buy substitute equipment before understanding the property's rules and the suitability of its electrical arrangement.
Consider the rest of the room
Photographs can help identify large windows, external shutters, curtains and the position of doors, but they cannot establish indoor temperatures. Ask focused questions about the particular features you need rather than requesting a promise of comfort in every weather condition. The response should describe the property and its equipment, not simply the region's reputation for sunshine.
For a longer stay, allow the heating arrangement to influence your choice early. If different guests keep different hours, independently controlled rooms may be useful. If someone works at the dining table for much of the day, the living area's daytime conditions deserve as much attention as the bedroom.
On arrival, try the controls according to the instructions and report a problem while assistance is still available. Matching the system to your routine before booking is more effective than discovering that an attractive coastal apartment was described mainly with summer use in mind.
